Ingredients

  • 500g FreshToHome cod Fish Fillets, cube-cut

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil, for frying (or use an air fryer for a healthier option)

Method

1.
Spice It Up
Start by seasoning the fish pieces with salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, and garam masala. Toss them gently to ensure each nugget gets an even coat of spice.

2.
Coat of Many Flavours
Prepare three bowls: one with gram flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs. Dip each fish piece first in the gram flour, then the eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs. Think of it as giving each nugget a cosy, crunchy jacket.

3.
Baked Perfection
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Arrange the nuggets on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Lightly spray or brush with oil. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through until they’re golden and crispy. If you prefer battered fish nuggets, you can fry them instead for about 3-4 minutes per side.

4.
Serve and
Savour
Serve these baked fish nuggets hot with mint chutney or tamarind sauce. Perfect for a snack, appetizer, or even a fun meal for the kids.

Fun Fact: These baked salmon nuggets or baked cod nuggets are a great way to get your kids to eat fish without any fuss. Plus, they’re much healthier than the usual fried variety!
